Master Cook's Daniel Winstanley is an experienced Chef whose not only an expert chef in his own right, but also knowledgeable and practiced hospitality lecturer teaching s
tudents day in day out about cooking. This means he has the perfect blend of teaching and cooking expertise to demonstrate and judge at Master Cook events.
Having qualified as a chef at Wigan and Leigh College back in 2000, Daniel went on to work at prestigious events such as Chelsea Flower Show and Royal Ascot. He then worked at the renowned Mulberry tree in Wrightington, before moving north as Sous Chef for Low Wood Hotel on the banks or Windemere. Not content with this Daniel was soon Group Training Chef for English Lakes Hotels before landing the Head Chef role at 24, part of the Lakes Group, 2004. This meant he oversaw the running of six leading hotels in the Lake District and Lancashire, including Cumbria's largest four star hotel. Finally Daniel returned home as Senior Lecturer at Wigan and Leigh College in 2009 to hone his teaching skills even further.
Daniel is approachable yet learned and more than happy, not just to demonstrate his dish of the day, judge and offer constructive comments on every course that's created, but to pass on tips and advice throughout our Master Cook events.
